X-Rays

X-rays are done on both a routine and as needed basis. X-rays allow us to see inside of your gums, teeth and bone so that we can see problems that may not be evident with a visual exam. The status of wisdom teeth, proximity of decay to the tooth's root and potential bone loss are just some of the problems that can be assessed with the help of x-rays.

X-rays are painless and are done routinely with your hygiene visits annually. Other, more comprehensive x-rays are done every five years or so...and give a comprehensive picture of what is going on throughout your jaw, sinus and nasal area and are an important tool in spotting cysts, impacted, extra or missing teeth, or cavities between teeth. X-rays are key when it comes to identifying problems early.

And keep in mind that, with our state-of-the-art digital equipment, your exposure to radiation is cut in half as compared to older, non-digital machines.
