Routine Exams

Routine exams are the cornerstone of good preventative dental care. Generally they are incorporated into your regular hygiene visits, or "cleanings," but they are really so much more important than most patients realize. It is at this point that the hygienist and/or Doctor can spot something small and elect to remedy it before it becomes a large problem. Dental decay, or carries, just don't go away on their own, and they just keep getting larger. Once they consume enough of the enamel, the nerve is exposed and that's when you, the patient, really decide to do something. Unfortunately, by that time, at the minimum, a root canal is in order, along with a crown, or....last resort, you may lose the tooth. So...to make that first point, we want to find things early, and your routine exams are the most economical and easiest way to do that!
